Privacy

The short version: nachtli has no account, no analytics and no tracking. Your settings and your tokens stay on your Mac, and the app talks straight to the services you connect.
Who is responsible
nachtli is made by Cédric Eberhardt. For anything about your data, write to hello at nachtli.com.
What stays on your Mac
- Your projects, items and settings, in a plain file you can read.
- Your tokens, in the macOS Keychain.
- The results of the checks.
None of this is sent to me.
What the app sends
- To the services you connect. Checks go from your Mac to each provider, with the token you gave. They never pass through a nachtli server, and each provider's own privacy policy applies.
- To Polar, for your license. When you enter a key, and then about once a day, the app asks Polar whether the key is still valid. It sends the key. The first time, it also sends a label made of your Mac's name and system, for example "Cédric's MacBook (macos)", so that you can see your devices in the customer portal. The free first hour needs no key, and nothing is sent for it.
- To download.nachtli.com, for updates. A few times a day the app asks for a small file that names the newest version. The request carries no key and no identifier. Like any web request, it shows your IP address to the server and to Cloudflare, who host it and may keep technical logs.
When you buy
Payment is handled by Polar, which acts as the merchant of record. It collects your email, billing country and payment details, charges you, handles VAT and emails your receipt and key. I never see your card. Polar passes me what I need to give support and refunds: your email, your country and the order. Polar's own privacy policy covers what it does with your data.
This website
It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads no third-party scripts or fonts. It is hosted behind Cloudflare, which may keep technical logs (IP address, pages requested) for security.
How long data is kept
Order records are kept as long as accounting law requires. Messages you send me are kept as long as needed to answer you and deal with the matter afterwards.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the data held about you, or object to its use. Write to hello at nachtli.com. If you think your rights were not respected, you can complain to your data protection authority, in France the CNIL.
Changes
If this changes, the date at the top changes with it.
